Camp Occoneechee
Camp Occoneechee is located in Rutherford County, east of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock, 2.5 hours from Charlotte. It is approximately 170-acre with a 15 acre lake which complements the picturesque setting of the Camp. All units, with the exception of winterized units – Gabin Cabin and Etowah, have hot and cold running water from April 1st to November 15th.
Cherokee
Two screened cabins with 12 beds each, plus one staff screened cabin with four beds; electricity in cabins; running water; shelter with electricity and fireplace. The bath house with toilets and showers is located near the dining hall. Maximum: 28
Gabin Cabin
Winterized house with heat, three bedrooms with cots and mattresses, two bathrooms (one with shower, one with tub), electricity, kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator, sink, fireplace and screened porch. Maximum: 20
Echowee
Four screened cabins with eight beds each, plus one small staff screened cabin with four beds, electricity in cabins, shelter with fireplace, electricity and running water. The bath house and showers are shared with Wakatomika and are a short distance up the hill. Maximum: 36
Wakatomika
Five log cabins with bunk beds, electricity and ceiling fans. Four cabins sleep eight and one cabin sleeps four and is handicap accessible. There are two fire rings and two grills. The bath house and showers are shared with Echowee and are a short distance down the hill. Maximum: 36
Wahi
Four adirondacks (three-sided shelter) with eight beds and one adirondack with four beds; two pit latrines, two hot showers, shelter with fireplace, electricity and running water; no electricity in adirondacks. Maximum: 36
Etowah Cabin
Winterized large cabin with heat, four bedrooms with a total of 48 beds, electricity, bathrooms, great room, kitchen and fireplace. Maximum: 48
C.I.T. Cabin
16 beds, electricity, two showers, two toilets, two sinks, large screened porch with fireplace. Maximum: 20
Putsy Dunn
Screened cabin, 12 beds, one toilet, one shower and two sinks; electricity. Maximum: 12
Oconaluftee
Four screened cabins with eight beds each, plus one small staff screened cabin with four beds, electricity in cabins, shelter with fireplace, electricity and running water. The bath house with toilets and showers is located near the dining hall. Maximum: 36
Ivy Inn Kitchen: Industrial kitchen may be reserved for large groups (50 or more). The primary cook must be Council trained (see Training Opportunities).
Kevin Brickman Pavilion: Open-air pavilion with space for program activities and trainings.
